Privacy Policy
The short version
- Stovely does not collect, sell, or share your personal information.
- There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking.
- Your recipes, weekly plan, and grocery list are stored on your phone. We never receive them.
- The app uses the internet in two situations only: when you import a recipe from a website link you paste, and when you buy or restore Stovely Plus through Google Play.
Who we are
Stovely is an Android app for saving recipes and turning the ones you pick into a single grocery list. It is published on Google Play by an independent developer under the developer name “Stovely” (“Stovely,” “we,” or “us”). This policy covers the Stovely app and this website, stovely.app.

Information stored on your device
To work, the app saves the following on your device only:
- The recipes you add: names, ingredients, steps, and, for recipes you import, a link back to the page they came from.
- Which recipes you have picked for the week, which grocery items you have ticked off, and any extra items you add to the list.
- Whether you have unlocked Stovely Plus.
Stovely has no account system and no servers that store your recipes, so none of this information ever reaches us. It is kept in the app’s private storage on your phone and protected by Android’s app sandbox and your device lock.
Backups. If you have Android backup turned on in your device settings, Android may include Stovely’s data in a backup to your Google account. That is done by Android and Google, not by us, and is covered by Google’s privacy policy. The app also has a “Back up recipes” button that creates a text backup you can save wherever you choose.
Importing a recipe from a website
If you paste a web address and tap Import, the app downloads that page straight from the website to your phone, the way a web browser would. Like any browser request, it includes ordinary internet details such as your IP address and device type, which that website may see and handle under its own privacy policy.
We do not see the address you enter or the page that comes back. Neither passes through any server of ours. The recipe details the app reads from the page are saved only on your device. If you tap a recipe’s source link, it opens in your browser, and that visit is between you and that website.
Purchases
Stovely Plus is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Google Play. Google collects and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy, and we never see your card number or other payment information. The app checks with Google Play, on your phone, whether Plus has been purchased on your Google account. We do not run a server for purchases.
As with any app on Google Play, Google may provide us with limited order information, such as an order number, a date, and a country, for accounting and support.
Sharing that you choose
“Share list” and “Back up recipes” open Android’s share sheet so you can send text to another app of your choice. What you share, and who receives it, is entirely up to you. We do not receive it.
App permissions
Stovely asks for network access, which it uses to import recipe pages and to connect to Google Play, and for Google Play’s billing permission. It does not ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone, or notifications.
What we do not do
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking tools.
- We do not build profiles of you or follow you across apps or websites.
- We do not sell or share your personal information.
How long we keep data, and deleting it
Because we do not collect your personal information, there is nothing for us to keep or delete. The data on your phone stays until you remove it. You can delete a recipe inside the app at any time. To remove everything, uninstall Stovely, or open Android Settings, choose Apps, then Stovely, then Storage, and select Clear data. If your device backup includes Stovely, you can manage or delete backups in your Google account settings.
This website
stovely.app is a simple static website. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or forms on it, and its fonts are served from the site itself. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may process visitors’ IP addresses in its server logs under its own privacy statement.
Children
Stovely is not designed for or directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or move your personal data. Because we do not collect or hold your personal data, we have none to provide or delete, and you keep full control of what is stored on your device. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Stovely changes. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change affects how your information is handled, we will also say so in the app or on the Google Play listing.
